Set up high amongst the gum trees, the keys to this family home were handed to us at settlement of the sale so we could work our magic and do a complete renovation prior to the new owners, our clients, moving in.
The design was entirely inspired by the surrounding natural bushland and the colours and textures which that backdrop provides.
Scope
A complete renovation of the ground and lower ground floor including kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and multiple living spaces. There were also extensive structural issues to rectify prior to completing the newly proposed works, made even more challenging by the property’s sloping block and limited access.
Brief
To create a family home that is functional and robust for two growing boys and provided spaces to congregate and spend time together, e.g. a games room and open plan kitchen onto living space. Designing a contemporary home that was still in keeping with the original architecture and surrounding streetscape of the home was also important.
